No talks between Bayern and Guardiola - agent

Jose Maria Orobitg said that “five or six big clubs” had been in touch about the prospect of hiring Guardiola as manager.

THE AGENT OF Pep Guardiola told Kicker on Thursday that the former Barcelona coach “has not spoken to any club” amid speculation in the German press that he has been approached by Bayern Munich.

Kicker reported Guardiola had told Jose Maria Orobitg that he had “not spoken to any club and is not ready to coach another club at the moment.”

“It would be a waste of time because Pep does not even know what he will want to do in the spring of 2013,” Orobitg added.

“Five or six big clubs have asked after him but Pep won’t have any of it at the moment, perhaps things will be different come February or March.”

German daily Bild reported earlier in the week that Bayern sporting director Christian Nerlinger had contacted Guardiola’s brother after travelling to Spain to see Barcelona beat Athletic Bilbao 3-0 in last month’s Copa del Rey final, Guardiola’s last match in charge of the Catalans.

It was claimed that Guardiola had hinted he would be prepared in principle to move to Bayern, last season’s Champions League runners-up and German football’s most successful club.

Guardiola, 41, stepped down from his role as Barcelona coach after a four-year spell at the helm in which he delivered three Spanish league titles, two Champions Leagues, two FIFA Club World Cups, two UEFA Supercups, three Spanish Supercups and two Spanish Cups.

Current Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes will leave the Allianz Arena when his contract expires at the end of next season.
