CONTROVERSIAL NEWCASTLE STRIKER Nile Ranger has been arrested on suspicion of rape, according to reports in Britain today.
The 21-year-old was held by police following an allegation made by a woman that she was attacked in a Newcastle hotel on Wednesday night.
The news comes hours after the England U-19 forward posted an image of his name spelled out in cash in £20 notes to Instagram.
Earlier this week, Ranger also angered Magpies fans by criticising on Twitter them for booing after Newcastle’s defeat to Reading at the weekend.
“Certain fans need to not come and support this team… Coming out to BOOO us.. Stay at home.. Don’t need ur BOO’s…. SAY NO MORE !!!” he wrote.
He followed it up with: “Last thing from me… To all the fans. U are not forced to buy season tickets.. Or pay our wages.. Please remember that…”
Typical Rangers!!
“To all the fans. U are not forced to buy season tickets…”
An excellent selling point. He should work in sales and promotions.
If he’s guilty, I bet he wishes it had happened over here. I mean a Judge might let him buy his way out of it!!
This is what happens when you pay very average young players exuberant amounts of money.Inflated egos, no loyalty, no respect. Any news on Mario?
Why even waste time with a trial?
You might want to amend the headline there fella.
Sorry for being the grammar police but you guys should really check for grammatical errors before posting articles. There are a few in this one.
“NIKE” Ranger.LOL
What a nice guy!! Not may I add I do hope he pays for what he is meant to have done and not get off because he has money. Also why do people follow him when he is rude to his fans yes maybe booing them for losing was not nice but what he said to them was not nice.
He’s not a regular for Newcastle is he?
ranger by name
hun by nature
Very mature discussion.
What does “suspicion of rape” mean?
Have you never seen Geordie Shore?
It’s kinda like having a good idea that Michael Lowry is corrupt Tom.
Bob! sorry Tom..
Its where a woman makes a baseless claim without evidence against somebody with a lot of money and the media are rightfully suspicious of it
Stephen, stop it now. No need for that. We’ve had enough high-profile rape scandals turning out to be true and people wondering how on earth no one ever did anything about it. Both parties involved must be respected until the truth is found out.
But only one party has a right to anonymity
That may be, but that has no bearing whatsoever on whether the woman is telling the truth or not.
If laws were brought in to imprison women who make false rape claims then I think people would take this more seriously.
Rape is a serious issue and false accusations are whats diluting the severity of it , and when the supposed perpetrator has a lot of money the chances of it being a false claim increase quite a lot.
Maybe not in this case, but sometimes it does. Look at what happened to Neil & Christine Hamilton. The anonymity provided to the lying “victim” was used cynically to sell papers and make money
Why not provide anonymity for both parties until we have a conviction?
Stephen: Yes, it does of course. And those who make false claims should be punished. It’s my understanding that they are when it is proven.
It’s really tough in high profile cases to know either way, but that’s why it’s doubly important not to start blaming or suspecting either side straight away. Like it or not, people making false claims is unfortunately not the only or even the main reason why people don’t take it seriously…
…And this woman, like so many before her, will be subject to intense scrutiny by the media and the public about her sexual history, her dress, every little thing. She’ll be called a sl*t and a wh*re and a golddigger and she’ll be every bit as reviled as the guy she’s accusing.
And none of that is a good thing. None of us should contribute to it. This is the real problem with rape: our twisted attitudes. So let’s all refrain from commenting before we know anything and be respectful.
Chuck: I agree with you about anonymity.
He sounds like a Dick!
Giving us trolls a bad name, why has this post not been removed?
