Gruesome stamp earns Gloucester prop red card after 73 seconds

Nick Wood received the second-fastest sending off in Premiership history.

GLOUCESTER’S NICK WOOD got himself into the record books with the second fastest sending off in Premiership history this afternoon.

The prop could have no complaints after being red-carded by referee Wayne Barnes for a disgraceful stamp on Saracens’s Namibian flanker Jacques Burger.

Sarries went on to win 44-12 and Wood did apologise to the player at the final whistle.
