It's on! Ulster's Niall O'Connor throws down singing challenge to Paddy Jackson

And the outhalf used Ronan Keating to drive home the point.

IT ALL BEGAN when Paddy Jackson mimed about his JCB while on Ireland duty at Carton House late last year.

According to Irish coach Declan Kidney, the talent show escalated to Jackson and Simon Zebo challenging each other to rapping battles in the gym.

The situation developed further today, with Ulster outhalf Niall O’Connor laying down a singing gauntlet to his provincial teammate.

Introducing the Outhalf Challenge, O’Connor plays guitar and sings his rendition of When You Say Nothing At All (the Ronan Keating version).

O’Connor: Not just a pretty place-kicker.

O’Connor then took to Twitter to openly call out Jackson and place up a link to his gallant effort.

The challenge was issued on Twitter last night and, as of yet, Jackson has yet to publicly respond to his teammate.

With any luck, Jackson will soon treat his Irish fans to a live rendition of this JCB ode, a country music classic:
