Louis and Niall show the Barca badge some love. FC Barcelona

Niall Horan and 1D boys had the run of Camp Nou today

Goalkeeper Claudio Bravo waited in the wings as the songsters tore it up on the hallowed turf.

AS IF BEING in the greatest pop/rock band since the Carpenters was not enough of a thrill, the One Direction lads usually enjoy a level of ‘access all areas’ that only disguising oneself as a Stormtooper on the Death Star can afford.

In the past six weeks, Horan welcomed Irish rugby stars Brian O’Driscoll and Jamie Heaslip to one of the band’s three Croke Park gigs, got goal-kicking lessons off Jonny Sexton and Ronan O’Gara, in Paris, and hung out with Caroline Wozniacki at Wimbledon.

This afternoon, Horan and football-loving band-mate Louis Tomlinson were Barcelona’s guests of honour at the Nou Camp. With would-be signing Luis Suarez still barred from football-related activities for the next three [and change] months, this may be the closest the Catalan club’s supporters get to pre-season glitz.

Horan told FC Barcelona: “I have been here a few times before, and it’s nice to be back. This is one of the best stadiums in the world, and it was incredible to get the chance to walk out onto the pitch.”
