THREE GAMES, THREE blowouts and almost nothing in the way of drama.
It’s fair to say it wasn’t the best Thanksgiving the NFL has ever had. How bad? Well there were 13 field goals compared to just 11 touchdowns. That bad.

In the early game – as Irish NFL fans rejoiced at the prospect of watching football during the week at a decent time – the Bears made things slightly interesting by jumping into a first quarter lead.
However, as predicted by Mossy Quinn yesterday, the Calvin Johnson we have come to expect finally decided to show up and the Lions kept alive their playoff hopes with a 34-17 win over the Chicago Bears.

The second game was an even bigger blowout with the Philadelphia Eagles proving they are one of the best teams in the NFL with a strong performance which saw Mark Sanchez score a rushing touchdown – his first in three years – to help his side to a 33-10 win.
However, the main talking point was this ridiculously cheap shot on Nolan Carroll by Dallas Cowboys kick returner Dwayne Harris that sparked a mass brawl.

The so-called main event, the NFC championship rematch of the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks, was the worst game of all with the 49ers not getting out of their own half until the middle of the third quarter.
Seattle, unsurprisingly, won 19-3 with the post match interview the ‘highlight’ of a complete non-contest.
