Manning powers Giants to win

The defeat of the Carolina Panthers was made even more impressive given they were missing the likes of Hakeem Nicks, Ahmad Bradshaw and David Diehl due to injury.

THE NEW YORK GIANTS thumped the Carolina Panthers 36-7 at the Bank of America Stadium in last night’s NFL action.

The Giants got out to a commanding 20-0 lead at half-time and after being outscored in the third term 7-6, finished strongly with another 10 points to nothing in the final quarter to complete the rout.

The win was the reigning champions’ second in a row, after they lost their season opener to Dallas, and came thanks largely to the efforts of star quarterback Eli Manning.

Manning completed 27 of 35 passes for a total of 288 yards, including a Martellus Bennett touchdown. The Giants’ win was made even more impressive given they were missing the likes of Hakeem Nicks, Ahmad Bradshaw and David Diehl due to injury.
