The NFL's proposed new stadium will shoot lightning when the home team scores

Because why not?

THEY’VE BEEN TALKING about building a new stadium and moving an NFL team to LA for so long now that most American football fans would be forgiven for thinking it will never get past the planning stage.

However, here’s one design everyone can get behind.

The (current) San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders have unveiled the design of the stadium they plan on sharing in Carson and it contains plans to include a tower that shoots LIGHTNING when the Chargers score.

Of course, it’s not actual lightning but it’s still a whole lot better than, say, blasting out Chelsea Dagger.

According to the LA Times:

“When the Chargers play, simulated lightning bolts would swirl behind glass encasing the tower and, if the team were to score a touchdown, a bolt would shoot out of the top.

The Raiders would not get anything  nearly as exciting but the stadium does have a feature to honour former owner Al Davis:

“For Raiders games, a flame would burn in the cauldron in honour of legendary team owner Al Davis.”

Here’s how the Eagles can land the player they REALLY want in this year’s NFL Draft
