Over 10,000 fans voted for the winning design following a backlash against the initial attempts to modernise the crest.
The Latin motto of ‘Nil Satis Nisi Optimum’, controversially omitted from the current design, has been restored to the badge which will be used from 2014/2015 onwards.
“The design is modern and clean but with a strong element of tradition,” Everton said at this morning’s announcement.
