Broadcasting behemoth Sky Sports confirmed earlier this morning that Scouse-lover and all-round happy-chappy Gary Neville will be joining their football panel as a colour commentator for the 2011-2012 season.
Although it didn’t take long for rumours about Neville’s likely next step to circulate, the move into broadcasting will surprise few considering his outspoken on-field manner as a player.

In a statement released through Sky, the 36-year-old said that he was “thrilled” to be joining up with the organisation.
Sky has always been leading the way in football coverage. Now I have retired this feels like the perfect way for me to stay involved in football and I am looking forward to bringing my 19 years of match experience into television.
