OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALLIST Nelly Korda is recovering at home after undergoing surgery for a blood clot in her arm.
The 23-year-old American revealed last month that she had been diagnosed with the clot after her arm swelled up following what she said was a โtypical morning workoutโ.
โI want to thank everyone for the overwhelming support and messages I have received the last few weeks,โ the world number two posted on Twitter.
โYour kind words have helped me get through this challenging and scary time.
โIt wasnโt the start of the year I had hoped for to say the least. 2022 began with me getting Covid-19 the second week of January which kept me off my feet for some time before the beginning of the LPGA season. Then followed up with a blood clot.
โI recently underwent surgery for a blood clot in my subclavian vein. I am pleased to report the procedure went well and the doctors were happy with the outcome.
โI am now home recovering and preparing to start rehab. I am looking forward to getting back to 100% so I can begin practicing. Thank you again for the well-wishes and continued privacy.โ

Fair play to herโฆ
Delighted
Great job, pity the bbc coverage couldnโt get her name right and decided to talk through the medal ceremony and our national anthem
Congratulations !!!!!!!!!!! Gold Medal !!!!!
the best thing to have come out of Kilcoole since Glenroe :)
Well done, massive achievement!
From a runnerโs POV, what where the stats for the race, ie: times and distance covered?
You wouldnโt report on a soccar match and say that a team won without giving the score! Same for a race: time and distance next time please.
I donโt get all the thumbs down; this is standard journalistic practice, just read the race results in any newspaper. I presume readers would like the journal wants to maintain the highest standards of journalism?
Havenโt a huge interest in athletics but watched the race and what an impressive win. Attacked early and led from start to finish with huge confidence. Super display.
(On a side note I could do without having Spar on the actual Gold Medal!)
Irish women are doing so good in sports right now & should be getting more coverage, support & acolades.
They are just as dedicated as their male counterparts.
Bravo well done !
Great result. Congratulations!
Superb performance, really well done and good luck for future events.
