THERE WAS ANOTHER win for the Irish at UFC Fight Night 76 this evening thanks to Dublin’s own Neil Seery.

The veteran flyweight submitted Jon Delos Reyes after 4:12 of the second round of the opening main-card bout of the night at the 3Arena, adding to Aisling Daly’s earlier victory over Ericka Almeida.

It was a return to winning ways for Seery — who now has a 3-2 record in the UFC — after his July loss to Louis Smolka at UFC 189.

As expected, the bout kicked off with both fighters standing toe-to-toe and trading punches, but there was also plenty of intriguing action on the ground, with both men threatening with guillotine attempts in the first frame.

Seery went close with another guillotine early in the second round but Reyes escaped nicely and transitioned into a rear-naked choke as the frantic grappling exchanges continued.

As the end of the second round approached, Reyes shot in for a takedown but left himself exposed, allowing Seery to lock in yet another guillotine but this time there was no way out for the Guam native.
