Nate Diaz's message to Dana White: 'Get off Conor's nuts'

Conor McGregor will face Eddie Alvarez in November but Diaz says they’re both afraid to fight him.

CONOR McGREGOR IS moving on to pastures new after two memorable contests with Diaz earlier this year, but Diaz seems keen to ensure that he stays in the mix for another big fight.

The Californian experienced the two biggest paydays of his career in 2016 courtesy of a captivating rivalry with McGregor which began when Diaz submitted the Irishman last March at UFC 196.

McGregor avenged that loss via majority decision last month at UFC 202, after which Diaz insisted that the only fight that interested him next is a trilogy meeting with the UFC featherweight champion.

UFC president Dana White has ruled out that possibility, with McGregor now preparing to bid to clinch the UFC lightweight title from champion Eddie Alvarez in November.

Diaz watched last night as Alvarez and McGregor attended a press conference in New York. Afterwards, he told Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com that both fighters are avoiding him.

“Fuck them both,” said Diaz, when asked for his views on the UFC 205 main event. “You know both those little bitches are afraid to fight me. That’s why they are fighting each other.”

Diaz had a message for UFC president Dana White, who previously insisted that McGregor would be forced to vacate his featherweight title if he wished to continue fighting outside the division. Nevertheless, McGregor has been allowed to keep the belt.

“Tell Dana I said get off Conor’s nuts. I left my room to that fight at 176 [pounds], so when I fought I was probably 173. Quit telling people I was a monster to make him look good. I’ve been a lightweight my whole career,” said Diaz, in reference to White’s assertion that Diaz was two weight classes heavier than McGregor when they fought.

Diaz also criticised Alvarez, who defeated his team-mate Gilbert Melendez in June of last year in what was the current champion’s first win in the UFC since his move from rival organisation Bellator.

“Eddie said I was next after Gilbert,” Diaz said. “Then I called him a bitch in the lobby and he turned the fight down repeatedly until I beat Conor. Then he called every day asking for the fight. Bitch. What kind of fighters are these guys?”
