TENNIS FANS WERE served up a tasty French Open hors d’oeuvre last night as Rafa Nadal edged out Britain’s brave Andy Murray™ in a clay classic in Rome.
Murray raced into an early lead in the Italian Open quarter-final and took the first set in just 38 minutes before Nadal stormed back to seal a 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 win.

The Scot, who missed the end of last season to have a minor back operation, finally feels that he is returning to form.
But after going 4-2 up in the final set, he admitted: ”I just messed it up a little bit.”
“You don’t get loads of chances… so I’m disappointed at that.”
Either way it has whetted the appetite for the French Open which gets underway at Roland Garros next Sunday, 25 May.
