Munster welcome Welsh side to Cork for British & Irish Cup final

The ‘A’ team are in action this evening against Cross Keys and Sky Sports cameras will capture the action.

MUNSTER ‘A’ WILL face Welsh side Cross Keys at Musgrave Park this evening (5.30pm) in the final of the British & Irish Cup.

The reds earned the final date after overpowering a strong Leinster side at the RDS on 6 April.

Munster coach Ian Costello has been forced to prepare his team by studying videos of Cross Keys’ games.

A trip to Wales last weekend proved fruitless when Keys fielded an under-strength team.

He believes that the Leinster win, when Munster displayed an intensity that was ‘second to none’, must be replicated in Cork. Costello commented:

We’ve got to want it more than them. It is a cup final at home so we’ve got to make sure that our hunger is far in excess of their when they come here.

Cross Keys captain Ross Nash has declared that the Welsh side are targeting cup success after a solid campaign. He added:

We are not going to Ireland to make up the numbers – we’ll give it everything and I am confident that we can win.

The Welshmen have included Newport Gwent Dragons out-half Jason Tovey, while Munster have mixed youth an experience.

Denis Hurley will operate on the left wing and Stephen Archer features in the front row.
