Moylette rallies in final three minutes to keep up unbeaten record in Baku

St Anne’s BC man kept up Ireland’s 100% record at the AIBA World Championships in Baku, beating Latvia’s Arturs Ahmetous.

RAY MOYLETTE KEPT up Ireland’s unbeaten run at the AIBA World Championships and Olympic qualifiers in Azerbaijan, beating Arturs Ahmetous.

The situation was less than promising for Moylette heading into the third round, with the Mayo man 8-7 down to his Latvian opponent.

However, Moylette managed to his the target nine times in the final three minutes to beat Ahmetous 16-11, and make it three wins from three for Ireland in Baku.

The St Anne’s BC man will now face Manoj Kumar of India in Sunday’s last 32 match.
