CHELSEA MANAGER JOSE Mourinho has criticised Chelsea fans after his side’s win over QPR today, saying it felt as if they were playing in “an empty stadium”.

Speaking to talkSPORT after today’s game the Portuguese manager said ”Everyone knows how much I feel connected to this club and the fans.

“At this moment it’s difficult for us to play at home though, because playing here is like playing in an empty stadium.

“The team then starts playing like it’s a quiet, soft game at home. It’s difficult to get that strong start where the players, team and fans at Stamford Bridge [are all together].

Chelsea won the game 2-1 thanks to a late penalty from Eden Hazard but Mourinho feels that the fans at Stamford Bridge need to offer more.

“I was today looking around and it was empty, but not in terms of people because it was obviously full. That’s what frustrating.”

Oscar put Chelsea ahead with a sublime strike before Charlie Austin equalised for QPR. Hazard’s late penalty was enough to seal the three points however and move Chelsea four points clear at the top of the league.
