With six points separating the sides in the final stages of the game, Westmeath opponents St Loman’s looked to be well on their way to victory.

But Moorefield showed amazing resolve to hit 1-03 in injury time, and edge out the tie by just a single point.

Eanna O’Connor — son of Kerry legend Jack — played an influential role in the comeback, hitting a free on 58 minutes to reduce the deficit to five points.

Ronan Sweeney’s injury time goal bridged the gap even further, with O’Connor and Kevin Murnaghan adding the additional points to snatch the win.

St Loman’s will be left to ponder as to how they lost their grip of the game, while Moorefield march on to the All-Ireland stages of the competition in the new year.
