'Arry's Transfer Window: Agger for Arsenal and the rest of Monday's transfer guff

Manchester City have splashed more cash on a defender while Manchester United’s scattergun recruitment policy continues without much success.

WITH THE PREMIER League season mere days away, here’s the pick of today’s transfer chatter.

Mangala City: While the rest of the league faffs about and bickers over to same few defenders, Manchester City swagger through the French windows and grab themselves a £32million Eliquim Mangala from Porto.

Tis well for some.

Moreno welcome at Anfield: One of Liverpool’s main transfer focuses over the past few weeks has been full-back Alberto Moreno and the Daily Mail say the deal is very, very close to completion on a £16million fee.

Blind luck: The most likely-looking move onto the Manchester United payroll remains Ajax defender Daley Blind. Louis Van Gaal could do with a lad who can play left and centre back and he clearly trusts Blind (and he’s also mates with his aul’ fella) after their World Cup experience.

Goin’ Dane to London? After Arsenal laughed in the face of Manchester United’s bid to take Tomas Vermaelen across Premier League battle lines, they are apparently keen to offer a similar move to Danier Agger to replace the Belgian. Do Liverpool love their Danish centre back enough to let him go? £15million may just do the trick it says in the Express.

Wilf at the door: Wilfried Zaha’s Man United nightmare looks close to an end. Where will he go? The People reckon Newcastle, or back to Palace or maybe even Forest.

Di Maria name-checked: LVG’s decision to highlight his need for top class wingers ‘like Ronaldo and Di Maria’ has obviously sparked renewed speculation that the Argentine will head for Old Trafford. United may well want him bad enough to shell out £50million, but how keen would he be on leaving the reigning European Champions?

Arsenal are Turkey-bound, so… reports are swirling that they’re doing business in that very same country by sheer coincidence. Lukas Podolski and Joel Campbell to Galatasaray? Sure, why not.
