MONAGHAN HARPS WERE finally crowned Ladies Ulster Intermediate Club champions last night — more than 48 hours after the bizarre finish to their final against Four Masters of Donegal.
The Ulster Council ruled that Harps won Sunday’s final in Enniskillen by a score of 1-8 to 2-4 and will progress to the All-Ireland semi-finals.

Controversy arose in the closing stages at Brewster Park when the referee overruled the scoreboard, which showed Harps leading, and informed players that Four Masters were in fact ahead.
It lead to a confused scenario at the final whistle as the Donegal club celebrated what they believed to be a victory while the scoreboard showed Harps to have won by a point.
The Harps players then refused to leave the pitch, preventing the senior final from taking place, until after further consultation the game was declared a draw.
Ulster Council officials last night met to discuss the matter and upheld the final score as displayed on the scoreboard, giving Harps a one-point win.
