The Mullingar native tweeted that Phillips was looking like ‘a right arrogant idiot’ during a scuffle near the end of the match, after Paddy Jackson went over for Ireland’s second try. The Racing Métro scrum-half logged on this afternoon and challenged Horan to repeat those sentiments to him in person.
As of the posting of this article, Phillips comments were 40 minutes old and he was already buried in an avalanche of feisty comments from 1D fans. Horan has over 17.1m Twitter followers.
Irish fullback Rob Kearney then pitched in as white knight to Horan:
Fearing he had bitten off more than he could chew/fight, Phillips congratulated Kearney on the win and sent back a picture of the pair together on last summer’s Lions Tour.
