Dublin's Mick Carton on juggling life as a fireman and an inter-county hurler

The Dubs defender takes viewers inside the fire station tonight on RTÉ 2.

IF DUBLIN NEED someone to put out a few fires against Tipperary, they’ll be looking to Mick Carton.

The O’Toole’s man is expected to start at wing-back in Sunday’s All-Ireland SHC quarter-final.

But when he’s not hurling, Carton is kept on his toes as a firefighter with the Dublin Fire Brigade.

“The job helps me, and Anthony is understanding,” he says on juggling the two.

“Sometimes you can’t get off, it’s impossible, and he understands that. Thank God both sides make it easy.”

See more with Fireman Mick on Thank GAA It’s Friday, RTÉ Two tonight at 8.30pm.
