VIDEO: Breath-taking Roosters try settles pulsating NRL Grand Final

Michael Jennings hared after a grubber kick and flung himself into the history books.

SONNY BILL WILLIAMS has won the World Cup, Super Rugby and NRL in three successive seasons yet his Roosters teammate Michael Jennings will steal all the headlines.

Jennings chased down a lost cause and flung himself between Brett Stewart and David Williams to touch down centimetres from the dead ball line. The stunning score settled the game and delivered a 26 — 18 win for the Sydney Roosters over Manly Sea Eagles, in front of a crowd of 81,491.

SBW was a class apart, however, and two of his acidic breaks seared the Eagles Eagles’ defence, leading to vital scores. It is likely that Williams will return to rugby union, and the Chiefs, in 2014 as he looks to get back into the All Blacks squad ahead of the 2015 World Cup.

For now, however, simply bask in the dare-do-well glory of Jennings’ late try:
