BRAZIL’S ATLETICO GOIANIENSE made a surprise substitution on Tuesday night — and brought on Michael Jackson for John Lennon.
Jackson (better known as Carlos Adriano Sousa Cruz) came on to replace Lenon (John Lennon Silva Santos to his mother) for the last half-hour against Avaí.
If you regularly stay up late to watch Brazilian Serie B football, sleep deprivation is bound to play tricks on your mind.
Brazilian players are often referred to by their nicknames and as if having two musical icons wasn’t enough, the Atletico squad also features a Mahatma Gandhi and Rafael Gladiador.
This isn’t the first time that Lennon and Jackson have collaborated either. Back in August, Jackson laid on the assist for Lennon’s goal:

But fortunately the change was captured by Daniel Storey who dubbed it “the greatest substitution in the history of football and music.”
