President Michael D Higgins is in Tullamore to cheer on Galway against Tipperary

The Prez got to O’Connor Park early so he could catch most of Cork’s clash with Sligo.

PRESIDENT MICHAEL D HIGGINS is in Offaly this evening to cheer on his former constituency of Galway.

The President, wearing a smart suit with a neutral-coloured tie, arrived ahead of throw-in between Cork and Sligo in the first of the day’s qualifiers at O’Connor Park.

He is originally from Limerick but has a strong affiliation to the Tribesmen. Galway take to the field against Tipperary from 7pm so keep an eye out for the maroon and white headband.
