ULSTER AND IRELAND out-half Paddy Jackson will miss this weekend’s Guinness Pro12 clash against Glasgow Warriors and winger Michael Allen could be out until December.

Allen dislocated his shoulder while playing for Ulster Ravens against Connacht A and today’s update from the province say he will miss between six and eight weeks of rugby.

Jackson is undergoing return to play protocols after receiving what his province call a ‘concussive type injury’ and he must satisfy those tests if he is to be cleared to play in the European Champions Cup trip to face Leicester on October 18.

Jackson was replaced by Stuart Olding twice during Ulster’s 30 – 0 stroll past Edinburgh last Friday night; once briefly in the first half before returning, and again after 60 minutes.

Olding finished out the game at number 10 as Ulster claimed a bonus point win, but it is expected that Ian Humphreys will be tasked with that position for Saturday’s visit of the league-leading Warriors.

There was good news in the form of Peter Nelson and, props, Ricky Lutton and Dave Ryan, who have been cleared to return.
