DESPITE PUTTING UP video game numbers in 2012, Lionel Messi had to settle for third in a poll to find Argentia’s best sports person for the year.
The diminutive Barcelona, who has 90 goals to his name this year, finished behind WBC Middleweight World Champion Sergio Martinez and taekwondo practitioner Sebastian Crismanich who won the nation’s only gold medal at London 2012.
Many were surprised the award, given by Argentinian journalists, didn’t go to Messi but they did vote him the best Argentine footballer playing outside the country.
They obviously didn’t get to watch this video of all his goals before making their announcement.
