LIONEL MESSI’S GRANDFATHER Antonio Cuccitini says his grandson was lazy in the closing stages of the Copa America.
The Argentina skipper scored just once in the tournament as Tata Martino’s side fell to Chile on penalties in the final on Saturday.
And his grandfather believes he could have done much more to help his side get their hands on their first piece of silverware in over 20 years.
“Some of him was there,” Cuccitini told Radio Casilda.
“Triumphs are the greatest things there are. But the last three games he was bad. He was lazy.”
Messi has represented his country in three World Cups, with last year’s runners-up finish being his best achievement, but he did win a gold medal in the 2008 Olympics.
When your father is secretary of county board always going to be difficult to keep independent
Ya just get rid of Davy…
I think what Lohan meant to say was “You could get the likes of Ger Loughnane to chair that independent committee and give me the managers job”!!
a review is the least that is called for. Something just isn’t right and unless the air is completely cleared the team can’t function properly. And worse the fans Will desert them all bar the 5or so thousand that would follow them anywhere
The lads voting “no” are definitely from outside the county!!! They’ll want him in the job as long as possible; can’t blame em!!
the players should be asked they are the most important people involved in this not the onlookers from the stand
Independent to me would mean someone not involved at all, ie. outside of the county, doing the review. Then again is there anyone in the GAA considered ‘independent’ and everyone would agree on?
someone like Mickey Harte, Jimmy McGuinness – capable people with no real competitive interest with hurling teams.
