Tom Sexton made a key contribution in Super Rugby this morning.

FORMER MUNSTER COACH Tony McGahan is now in charge of the Melbourne Rebels in Super Rugby and he has done a good job with them in his second season in charge.

They haven’t finished higher than 12th in any of their first four seasons in existence but are currently in ninth and just two points off the playoff spots.

They recorded a resounding 42-22 bonus point win over the Auckland Blues earlier this morning and former Leinster hooker Tom Sexton played a part in the build-up to their third try.

And the Melbourne Rebels Twitter account really enjoyed Sexton’s role in Scott Higginbotham’s score.

It is great to see an Irishman getting game time in Super Rugby, not least because it is so rare for someone to even go down there due to the strict eligibility requirements.

Good lord… this All Blacks second row just morphed into Bryan bloody Habana

Munster fans will be overjoyed to see the destructive second row pairing for this weekend
