Conor McGregor was spared some embarrassment by Dana White on Friday

“He was talking shit to everybody and his zipper was down.”

DURING FRIDAY’S ‘GO BIG’ press conference in Las Vegas, which was attended by Conor McGregor and several other top fighters, UFC president Dana White paused to have a brief word in McGregor’s ear.

The UFC interim featherweight champion hogged the limelight during the media event and others often struggled to get a word in, so the assumption was that White was asking McGregor to tone it down.

McGregor had just finished a verbal exchange with Chad Mendes, his most recent opponent, when the UFC president intervened.

After last night’s UFC 191 event, White explained that he was actually informing McGregor that the zip in his trousers was open… hence the ‘Oh, bollocks’ look on the Dubliner’s face as he quickly drops the hand to adjust himself.

“I told him that his zipper was down. That’s it,” Dana White said. “Everybody thought that I was talking to him about telling him to calm down. His zipper was down. He was jumping up talking shit to everybody and his zipper was down.”

We’ve all been caught leaving the front door open at some stage in our lives, but given the pride McGregor takes in his appearance and the fact that he had spent the previous half-an-hour trash-talking everyone within earshot, he would have looked a little bit silly when he stood up later on for his staredown with Jose Aldo with the fly in his expensive trousers open.
