CONOR MCGREGOR, RORY McIlroy and Roy Keane are the only three Irish people on the top 10 list of sports personalities that Ireland searched for on Google in 2014.

McGregor’s popularity soared again this year, McIlroy collected two Majors while Keane was in the headlines during a dramatic year for the Irish assistant manager.

Michael Schumacher was the highest ranked sports personality ahead of McGregor with Oscar Pistorious, four global soccer stars and ex-Man United manager David Moyes completing the list.

Arsenal lead the way in the most searched for sports team in Ireland just ahead of Liverpool and Manchester United.

Leinster rugby, the Kilkenny hurlers and the Kerry footballers are also in the top 10.
