As it happened: Mayo v Tyrone, All-Ireland football final

The battle for Sam Maguire throws-in at 5pm.

It’s All-Ireland football final day and what a game we’ve got in store between Tyrone and Mayo.

Tyrone are bidding for their first Sam Maguire since 2008, while Mayo’s famine stretches back to 1951.

Just confirming that there was one late change for Mayo, with Enda Hession replaced by Oisin Mullin. The All-Star defender missed the semi-final win over Dublin with a quad injury, but he’s recovered to take his place from the start today.

Cathal McShane and Darragh Canavan remain in reserve for Tyrone, while there will be great interest in the position Aidan O’Shea takes up in the early stages.

CHANCE!  A long ball goes into O’Shea with the goal at his mercy, but McNamee performs a fine block to deny him.

29 mins – Donnelly makes space for himself with a neat dummy and fires over to complete a Tyrone counter-attack. 

SAVE! McCurry is put through on goal after a stunning ball from Morgan, but Hennelly does really well to deny him.

31 mins – Niall Morgan puts the 45 between the posts after that McCurry goal chance.

31 mins – O’Shea wins a hard ball in front and draws a foul from McNamee. O’Donoghue applies the finish.

34 mins – McCurry is fouled by O’Hora and he puts over the free. Tyrone are motoring well in the last 10 minutes.

37 mins – Mayo’s Stephen Coen scores Mayo’s seventh with an outside the boot strike.
