Mayo minors set for backroom reshuffle after coach and selectors step down

But manager Enda Gillvary is staying on.

THE MAYO MINOR football team are on the look out for a new coach and panel of selectors after James Mitchell, Eoin Sweeney and Martin Costello offered their resignation to the county board.

Manager Enda Gillvary has, however, put his name forward for 2016 despite a disappointing year for his side.

Mayo suffered a heavy defeat to Galway in the Connacht championship semi-final in July as their provincial title defence ended limply.

“At this stage the Mayo County Board would like to sincerely thank Enda, James, Martin and Eoin along with all other backroom team members of the Mayo Minor Football Management over the last 3 years for their efforts,” a statement read this afternoon.

“It was a wonderful achievement in winning 2 Connacht titles and the All Ireland Tommie Markam Cup in 2013. ”
