Straight from Machu Picchu in Peru, it's the Mayo 4 Sam girls

First Hernán Cortés conquers the place, then these ladies from Ballina show up.

THE MAYO 4 SAM campaign in 2013 shows no signs of abating after three Ballina natives showed their support all the way from deepest, darkest Peru.

What began on the Alpe d’Heuz climb at the Tour de France, appeared live on Sky Sports’ darts coverage, was taken to the skies by Amy Hopkins and popped up again in America at golf tournaments is now in South America.

Eveann Kennedy, Sinead Browne and Dearhbla Brogan took their A4 pages and coloured markers up to the summit of Machu Pichu, high above the Sacred Valley. They ‘roped in a French girl’ to take a picture and posed on a precarious ledge to get their point across:

Fair play to all involved. Mayo, of course, take on Tyrone in the All-Ireland semi-finals on 25 August.

Someone has scrawled ‘Mayo for Sam’ on the road at the Tour de France

‘He’s so far out, he’s almost in Ireland’
