ANTICIPATION IS BUILDING across the country ahead of Sunday’s All-Ireland Football final – but the buzz is all the greater in Mayo since it’s been so long since they’ve tasted success.
Mayo superfan Kany Kazadi is just one fan on the hunt for a precious ticket.
And she’s proved her credentials with this amazing and elaborate Mayo hairstyle – as she revealed on Twitter last night.
Kany, who’s lived in Castlebar for the last 12 years, tells DailyEdge.ie that the extensions took 10 hours to braid into her hair this week – a special effort for the final:
I’ve only missed three matches this year. I’ve been up to Croker four times – twice for the games with Roscommon and again for the two with Kerry. Wouldn’t like to miss the final.
The brilliantly colourful Mayo hairstyle is becoming Kany’s signature look in September:
I only do the hair if we get to the final – I did it for last year’s final and now this year’s. It’s a tradition now each time we reach the final I will do something with my hair.
This was last year’s equally wonderful effort:

She explains that she bought these hair extensions in the Afro-Caribbean shop in Castlebar and that her friend Esther helped apply them – from 5pm until 3am one night this week.

She’s willing to pay face value and if the will of the people had anything to do with it, she’d have a ticket in her hands right now.
Kany is hopeful on the ticket front, but the match is at the forefront of her mind:
Good luck with the search.
