Maxi Lopez refuses to shake hand of former team-mate who's engaged to his ex-wife

Mauro Icardi rubbed salt into the wounds of his fellow Argentine over the weekend.

WE MANAGED TO miss this story over the weekend but were alerted to it by AC Jimbo and the Guardian’s Football Weekly guys during yesterday’s episode.

Inter Milan took on Sampdoria in Serie A on Sunday but there was more than a sprinkle of added spice to the clash as former team-mates Maxi Lopez and Mauro Icardi faced off.

The Argentine pair became close friends at Samp but fell out last year when it was revealed that 21-year-old Icardi was seeing Wanda Nara — who was previously the wife of one-time Barcelona striker Lopez.

The pre-match handshake saw Lopez blank his young compatriot but Icardi had the last laugh as he scored twice in a 4-0 win for the visiting Nerazzurri.

Lopez has clearly taken the break-up hard and the fact that the new couple (who are now engaged) seem to spend most of their days posting selfies on Instagram can’t help.
