MATS HUMMELS HAS revealed that he’s struggling to sleep at night as he tries to figure out his future.
The 27-year-old is captain of Borussia Dortmund but has long been linked with a move elsewhere.
Up until now, the centre-half has stayed put while watching former team-mates like Robert Lewandowski and Mario Goetze head for the bigger and brighter lights of Bayern Munich.
Other notable figures like Shinji Kagawa and Nuri Sahin tried their luck in the Premier League with Manchester United and Liverpool respectively before returning to the Westfalenstadion.
Hummels also remained even when iconic coach Jurgen Klopp left to take over at Anfield at the start of the season.

Still, with the team in transition, their skipper elected against seeking a switch.
But, he may feel differently now.
He’s entering a crucial period in his career and should he sign a new contract with Dortmund, it would be optimistic to think he’ll earn a big move at the age of 30.
Speaking to Sky Germany, Hummels admitted to having difficulty dealing with what his next move will be.
It’s a very difficult decision, and when I finally make it people will understand how hard it is for me. I’ve set a date, but I’m keeping it to myself. It’s been taking me at least half an hour extra to fall asleep for several weeks now because this is such a big issue for me.”
It’s inevitable Hummels will be linked with a number of high-profile clubs.
Having graduated from the Bayern academy, he was sold to Dortmund in 2009 but may still feel he has unfinished business and a point to prove in Bavaria – should the German giants come calling.
But he’s been a long-term target for Manchester United while Liverpool are an attractive proposition with Klopp in charge there.
However, United could still miss out on Champions League football while a Europa League place looks a stretch for the Merseysiders and that may factor in Hummel’s eventual decision.
