Someone at Match of the Day has no idea what Manchester United's players look like

Either that or they got a text from a mate at the pub and thought ‘sod it’.

MANCHESTER UNITED DID not bring in too many fresh faces at Old Trafford so the graphic’s supremo at Match of the Day should have no excuse for this clanger.

Viewers of MOTD last night spotted a raft of mistakes on the United substitutes bench before the highlights of their 4-1 win over Swansea.

Fabio da Silva, Shinji Kagawa and Wilfried Zaha were all named on the bench by United manager David Moyes but they are not the three sullen chaps included on the BBC’s teamsheet [below].

Phil Jones, at right-back, does not look himself either but at least the Beeb selected a Caucasian. One suspects that the graphics whizz thought ‘I’ll sack this off to some intern’ before heading down to the Wolf & Whistle for last orders.

The show’s host, Gary Lineker was oblivious to the botch job but found time to tweet out a ‘Boom’ as the show hauled in the late-night viewers:

‘Boom’ indeed.
