Martinez says McCarthy will miss BOTH Ireland's upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers

The Everton player was left out of the squad to face Gibraltar yesterday.

EVERTON BOSS ROBERTO Martinez says James McCarthy miss both Ireland’s upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers.

The midfielder was not included in the final squad for the home clash with Gibraltar on 11 October, however it had been hoped he would be ready to face Germany away three days later.

Nevertheless, in an interview with BT Sport, Martinez ruled his player out of Ireland’s big game ahead of today’s Everton-Man United match, which McCarthy is also absent for.

Worryingly for Martin O’Neill’s side, Seamus Coleman — another key player — was again missing for Everton for their visit to Old Trafford, while Aiden McGeady started and Darron Gibson was named on the bench.
