Tyrone down to 14 men after Penrose red-carded for punch

The Tyrone forward received his marching orders at the start of the second half.

TYRONE WERE REDUCED to 14 men at the start of the second half of their All-Ireland quarter-final.

The Red Hands were stunned when forward Martin Penrose got a red card for a punch on Dessie Mone just before half-time. A scuffle broke out, due to Penrose’s actions and similar dig from Conor Gormley.

No action was taken at the time but referee Cormac Reilly sent Penrose on his way before the second half began.

The numbers were levelled on 47 minutes when Kieran Hughes was red-carded for two yellow-card offences.

The hits are bigger than ever… but what is the GAA doing to manage concussion?
