John O'Shea, Seamus Coleman and Damien Delaney to miss US trip

The Boys in Green head for New York tomorrow.

MARTIN O’NEILL HAS excused three key members of his squad from the trip to America, the FAI have confirmed tonight.

John O’Shea, Seamus Coleman and Damien Delaney spoke to the manager this evening and ‘it has been agreed that they will not travel with the squad to New York tomorrow’ the Association say.

Earlier, the squad trained at Gannon Park in Malahide.

Ciaran Clark and Jon Walters may also miss the games in the US. Clark is said to be suffering from a minor knee injury following the warm-up routine before the Italy match in London on Saturday evening. He stayed behind in England to receive treatment from his club.

Walters, meanwhile, sat out today’s session as he is suffering from a stomach bug and may report tomorrow if symptoms improve.

“Stephen Ward has also spoken to the manager, and may join up with the squad in time for the Portugal game on June 10,” a statement reads.
