West Ham star Mark Noble set to declare for Ireland - reports

The midfielder has become disillusioned with the England set-up after being omitted from their latest squad.

WEST HAM STAR Mark Noble is set to declare for Ireland after being overlooked for the latest England squad, according to reports in the Daily Mail today.

The 27-year-old former England under-21 captain was an ever-present in the Hammers’ team last year and he has been heavily linked with Ireland in the past.

Noble is eligible to represent Ireland as his grandparents are from Cork, and he is understood to have finally run out of patience after younger players such as Jack Colback and Fabian Delph were picked ahead of him for England’s upcoming games against Norway and Switzerland.

It is understood that O’Neill has extended a longstanding offer to Noble to play for the Boys in Green, though there is no guarantee that West Ham’s 2013-14 Player of the Season would get in the Ireland starting XI should the star officially make himself available.

The central midfield positions are among the most hotly contested in the Ireland team, with several players including James McCarthy, Darron Gibson, Glenn Whelan and David Meyler already vying for a place there.

What do you think? Would Mark Noble be a good addition to the Ireland team?
