Mark Hughes in talks with QPR

Sources close to the club suggest that owner Tony Fernandes will helm the contract negotiations.

FORMER MANCHESTER CITY, Blackburn and Fulham manager Mark Hughes has arrived at Loftus Road for discussions regarding Queens Park Rangers’ managerial vacancy.

The newly-promoted team has endured a turbulent run of late, garnering a mere two points in its last six Premier League outings. A disappointing 2-2 draw with League One outfit MK Dons on Saturday prompted the dismissal of Neil Warnock.

According to the Press Association, the London club’s multi-millionaire owner, Tony Fernandes, has taken an active interest in securing a replacement.

“It is understood the club’s owner, Tony Fernandes, will lead the talks personally, despite announcing earlier today he was due to fly out to China for a vital business meeting regarding his AirAsia airline.”

Hughes, who emerged as the front-runner soon after the announcement of Warnock’s departure, has been out of work since his controversial resignation from Fulham last season.
