THE AURA OF penalty spot invincibility has slipped.
Mario Balotelli missed a crucial spot-kick for AC Milan last night as they drew 1-1 with 10-man Genoa and lost more ground on the Serie A leaders.

Kaka had opened the scoring for the Rossoneri before former AC player Alberto Gilardino equalised for the visitors. Gilardino levelled matters with a penalty before Balotelli got his chance. The Italian international’s effort was weakly struck and far too close to Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin, who saved.
The miss is the second of Balotelli’s career and comes fresh on the heels of his first, against Napoli, in September. The folks at hasballotellimissedapenalty.com will have to update their site for the second time in two months.
Following the game, more than 300 AC Milan fans blocked the players’ entrance/exit following the game to protest at their team’s winless streak, which now stretches back to 19 October.
