Marca's front page spells the end for Spain

The Spanish paper reflects the mood of football fans everywhere.

THIS IS THE front page of Thursday’s edition of Spanish newspaper Marca, the biggest daily sports paper in the country.

Four years after becoming the World Cup champions for the first time, Spain’s golden generation crashed out of this year’s tournament after just two games following their 2-0 loss to Chile yesterday.

With the likes of Iker Casillas, Iniesta, Xavi and Xavi Alonso all unlikely to feature in 2018, the paper takes the opportunity to mark the end of an era of dominance.
