DIEGO MARADON’S CLUB says the coach did the “honorable thing” by storming into the stands to confront fans who were taunting his girlfriend and the wives of players.
The acting head of the Dubai-based Al Wasl club said on the team website today that Maradona’s anger was “understandable” and he “did the honorable thing” last weekend.

Abdullah al-Bishr also apologised to the Argentina great, who took over as coach last year.
Maradona was restrained Thursday after jostling with fans of rival club Al Shabab who heckled the women during his team’s 2-0 loss. Maradona called the Al Shabab fans “cowards.”
