Man United's teen sensation Adnan Januzaj skins Black Cats with cracking volley

“He can be anything he wants to be,” declared Michael Carrick of his Red Devils teammate.

MANCHESTER UNITED WERE in danger of losing their fourth league game of the season before their Belgian teenager Adnan Januzaj came to the rescue.

Trailing 1 — 0 to Sunderland, midway through the second half, and the young midfielder stepped up with two superb goals. He steered home a Patrice Evra cross to level the tie before crisply volleying home from just inside the Black Cats’ box.

The goal gave United a much-needed 2 — 1 win and moved David Moyes’ men into the top half of the table. Here are the Januzaj goals:

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, United midfielder Michael Carrick praised his young teammate’s goalscoring contribution.

He said, “I was talking to him at half-time and told him to get into the box more as there were chances and [it lead to] two great chances for him that he finished well.”

“He can be anything he wants to be, really,” Carrick added. “He’s that good.”

United boss David Moyes likened Januzaj to Wayne Rooney and Ross Barkley, both of whom he gave debuts to as Everton manager and revealed he wanted to give the Belgian his full debut earlier in the season.
