Januzaj earns soft penalty as Hernandez double sends United through

The Canaries were doing a good job of keeping the league champions at bay until the Belgian teenager made something happen.

ADNAN JANUZAJ HAD a fine game in a central midfield role for Manchester United in their 3 — 0 win over Norwich City, in the Capital One Cup, at Old Trafford.

The Belgian teenager has been United’s driving force in recent week’s and earned his side a first-half penalty. Januzaj went down with little encouragement as Leroy Fer accosted him in the box.

Javier Hernandez was on spot-kick duty, in the absence of Wayne Rooney. The Mexican sent goalkeeper Mark Bunn the wrong way to put United 1 — 0 up.

Dutch defender Alexander Büttner crossed for Hernandez to draw a save, from a header, in the second-half. Always alive to scoring possibilities, the striker followed up to head home the rebound.

Januzaj crossed for Phil Jones United’s third and Brazilian defender Fabio made it 4 — 0 in injury time. There were 11 minutes of added time after lengthy on-field treatment for the injured Robert Snodgrass. United boss David Moyes will be very pleased with his side’s performance as they advance to the quarter finals.
