Man Utd and Spurs keen on Hazard

LILLE’S EDEN HAZARD is attracting plenty of attention from Europe’s big clubs keen to sign him.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed he is interested in signing the forward and admitted he is a big fan of the Belgian international. And Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson was at Lyon’s 2-1 victory over Lille on Saturday.

The 21-year-old has also been linked to Chelsea, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona. When informed of Ferguson’s presence and his yawning after Lisandro Lopez’s second goal, Hazard told Orange TV at half-time: “I didn’t know he was here. Maybe he’s tired!”

Meanwhile, Redknapp has made a number of trips to France to see Hazard and Marseille’s Loic Remy as he looks to bolster his squad. Hazard has previously said he would be interested in a move to London as he would be ‘guaranteed first-team football’ and, according to L’Equipe,  Redknapp has now suggested a move is already being discussed.

“Our owner is willing to pay for an exceptional talent, like Eden Hazard,” Redknapp said. ”I have seen him several times recently in Marseille (in January) and then also against PSG in the final of the Coupe de France (last May). But I also know that Manchester United is looking at him and also Manchester City. It will be difficult to get him, but I like him a lot.”

Redknapp also said he was ready to check on Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud, who has been in form this season with 17 goals in 25 appearances. ”He looks good, I’ve read many good reports on him and I have a scout following the French championship,” he said. ”If a player attracts my attention I will watch him play.”
