Man United target trio, John Stones asks to leave Everton and all today's transfer gossip

Plus, Liverpool and Tottenham are looking to sign one of the stars of the German Euro 2016 side.

HERE’S THE GOOD, the bad and unlikely football moves being talked about today.

Pep Guardiola and Man City are targeting £40million-rated (€47 million) Schalke player Leroy Sane, with the 20-year-old winger recently back from Euro 2016 duty with Germany.

Man United are understood to be considering a move for three players. Should they fail to land Paul Pogba, the Red Devils will turn their attentions to another French midfielder — Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko.

Jose Mourinho is also understood to be keen on a reunion with 29-year-old Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who he also brought to Chelsea from Barcelona.

And finally, the Old Trafford outfit also are believed to have their eye on 17-year-old West Ham starlet Reece Oxford, with the teenager having made 12 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers last season.

Arsenal have reportedly lost faith in Olivier Giroud, with the Gunners eyeing up Napoli’s 28-year-old Argentina forward Gonzalo Higuain as a replacement. The former Real Madrid man is understood to have a £42 million (€50 million) valuation.

The Gunners are also keen on 21-year-old Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, who made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Italian club last season.

Jonas Hector, the 26-year-old defender who was a regular for Germany at Euro 2016, is being linked with Liverpool and Tottenham, who would have to pay £25 million (€29 million) for his services.

22-year-old English centre-back John Stones, who has been perpetually linked with a move away from Everton, has told the club he wants to leave, with Man City waiting in the wings.

Meanwhile, Wilfried Bony could be set to end his disappointing stint at the Eastlands outfit, with Galatasary set to offer the player an escape route in a proposed £3 million (€3.5 million) loan deal.

Christian Ziege was one of the many high-profile foreign signings Middlesbrough acquired in the 1990s, with the player previously spending seven years at Bayern Munich and two at Milan.

The German international, who was part of his country’s Euro 96-winning side, impressed in his debut Premier League season, with six goals in 29 appearances.

The attacking full-back then joined Liverpool a year later for £5.5 million (€6.5 million), but the move was not a success, as injury problems restricted Ziege to just 16 appearances.

After just a year, he left the Reds to join Tottenham, where he showed signs of rediscovering his old form, with seven goals in 47 appearances, before injury problems also curtailed his time at White Hart Lane, with Ziege retiring year after leaving Spurs in 2005 following a brief spell at Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Ziege bowed out having earned 72 Germany caps, two Bundesligas and one Serie A title, as well as two Uefa Cups including one as part of the Liverpool squad that won the treble (also including the League and FA Cup) in the 2000-01 season.

After hanging up his boots, he pursued a career in coaching, and has undertaken various roles at Mönchengladbach and the Germany underage teams.

Now aged 44, Ziege is currently managing Atlético Baleares in the Segunda División B in Spain.
